Next month the Leamington Spa Food Festival returns to the town, bringing exciting tastes and flavours to the Royal Pump Room Gardens.
Now in its 11th year, the festival runs over the course of 2 days from Saturday 8 to Sunday 9 of September and is set to bring a glorious end to the Summer of Fun.
The magnificent array of food and drink has grown quickly over the course of the last decade from its humble beginnings. The free to attend festival started with 39 exhibits but now features more than 150.
Attracting around 25,000 visitors last year, the event is organised by BID Leamington and has become one of the town’s biggest events. From mouth-watering pies to unique catering, there will be food galore.
Local butcher Aubrey Allen’s popular Home Cook of the Year competition is back and the bar is set high after last year’s winner Sophie Hyam demonstrated her incredible technical skills.
Some of the local businesses set to be there include The Royal Pug, Slurp, and Savi’s. Located on Regent Street, Savi’s Bakery are a regular to the festival and always bake through the night to support the event.
The company usually sell more than 60 kilos of handmade rock cakes, along with other tasty treats including bread, handmade Belgian buns, flapjack, and rocky road.
The celebration of local businesses and their unique foods is also due to have performances from local bands, including Chasing Deer and Boss Acoustics.
Visitors will have the chance to get their hands on the famous ‘Little Book of Offers’. Full of exclusive discounts, this treasure shows of the range of businesses located within our town centre.
The Royal Pump Room Gardens is located off junction 13 and 14 of the M40. The train station is a 5-minute walk away and local bus services operate regularly.
Both days of the event will be open from 10 am until 6 pm.
Details about the event, including a full programme of activities, can be found at www.leamingtonfoodfestival.co.uk. Admission is free across the weekend.
